What is Pumice?
Pumice is a textural term for a volcanic rock that is a solidified frothy lava typically created when super-heated, highly pressurized rock is violently ejected from a volcano.
Where does New Zealand's pumice come from?
Almost all of the current pumice in New Zealand has come from the last eruption of Taupo around the year 181AD
What is Pumice used for?
Pumice has a large number of uses, mostly these days it is used in a variety of ways in the Arts and Crafts arena, but it is also popular for cleaning the bottom of electric Irons and Saucepans. Also can be often found in pharmacies as a skin cleaner in a variety of ways. Older uses for Pumice has also been to use it as fishing net floats, making use of its natural floating ability's.
Is Pumice Toxic?
No, though we wouldn't overly recommend eating it.
How easy is it to drill holes into Pumice?
Very easy, most standard drill bits will have no problems drilling through Pumice.
How fast will I get my order?
Depends on where in the world you live and the size of your order.
But most places in New Zealand around 2 to 3 days, overseas around 7 to 10 days

For customers outside of New Zealand, all taxes, duties and Customs issues that arise are the customers full responsibility.
Supply of Product?
We generally hold good stock of all products ready for dispatch within 2-3 days of receipt of order. However, our Pumice products are provided by Mother Nature so occasionally delays can occur. We will let you know of such a delay and provide you with the estimated time for obtaining the product.
